Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, the university participated in the online introductory meeting organized under the supervision of the Supreme Council of Universities.

In coordination with the French Embassy in Cairo, and within the framework of supporting international cooperation and exploring available funding opportunities for scientific research in cooperation with the French side, the university’s participation came with the presence of Dr. Yasser Gaber, the scientific advisor, as part of the activities of the meeting, which witnessed the presence of representatives of Egyptian universities and various research bodies.

Dr. Tarek Ali explained that the meeting included a comprehensive presentation of the Egyptian-French research funding and cooperation programs, which target doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers, and joint scientific research teams. These programs include research residency programs, co-supervision, and the dual supervision system, in addition to programs supporting academic mobility and funding bilateral research projects.

In this context, the meeting reviewed the Campus France Doctorat platform, which allows researchers to search for doctoral schools and research laboratories in France according to various disciplines and to identify accredited academic institutions, thus facilitating the selection of suitable research partners.

The university president affirmed Beni Suef University's continued support for its researchers and its encouragement of them to take advantage of international opportunities, thereby contributing to the development of the scientific research system, building sustainable academic partnerships, and enhancing its scientific standing both locally and internationally.

For their part, the participants stressed the importance of choosing the host research institution based on the scientific compatibility between the research topic and the research laboratory’s experience, while clarifying the added value of the collaboration, and the proposed work plan during the stay, in line with the evaluation criteria in the funding programs.

It is worth noting that it was confirmed that the expected application deadlines for these programs will be during November 2026 for the 2027 academic year, with the recommendation to start preparing research proposals early, formulating scientific ideas, and communicating with supervisors and research laboratories at French universities, which will enhance the chances of acceptance into these programs.
