Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, the activities of the Second International and Fourth Scientific Conference of the Nursing were launched  at the Faculty of Nursing, Beni Suef University, under the title: "Digital Technology and Patient Safety: New Horizons in Medical-Surgical Nursing," amidst a high-level local and international academic and medical presence, under the supervision of Dr. Abu Al-Hassan Abdel-Mawgoud, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Hanan Al-Zablawi, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Dr. Sherine El-Sayed Sherif, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development, and chaired by Dr. Iman Mohamed, Head of the Medical-Surgical Nursing Department Department 

In attendance of Dr. Hani Gomaa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Beni Suef, and Dr. Maha Hassan Amin, Director of the Nursing Department at the Health Directorate, along with a number of nursing leaders in the governorate.

The event commenced with the playing of the national anthem and a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the honoring of several health leaders and guests of honor at the conference.

Dr. Tarek Ali emphasized that organizing this conference reflects the university's commitment to keeping pace with global developments in the health sector, particularly in the areas of digital transformation and artificial intelligence.

He pointed out that integrating modern technology into nursing education contributes to preparing qualified personnel capable of providing advanced and safe healthcare services, which positively impacts the quality of healthcare provided to citizens and enhances the university's standing as a leading educational and research institution.

During his speech, Dr. Hani Gomaa noted that digital technology and artificial intelligence have become essential elements in developing the healthcare system, highlighting their role in improving diagnostic accuracy, reducing medication errors, and enhancing patient safety.

It is worth noting that the conference sessions resulted in a number of important recommendations, most notably: integrating artificial intelligence applications into education and nursing services, expanding the use of barcode systems for managing medications within hospitals, establishing a regional center of excellence for digital nursing at Beni Suef University, including specialized courses in health technology and artificial intelligence, and strengthening international partnerships in the fields of training and scientific research.
