Beni Suef University Council Opens Its Session with Congratulations on Labor Day

Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, chaired today the 257th session of the University Council, in the presence of Dr. Abu El-Hassan Abdel Mawgoud, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Hamada Mohamed, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; along with faculty deans and council members.
At the beginning of the session, the University President extended his highest congratulations and appreciation to Egypt’s dedicated workers on the occasion of Labor Day, affirming that they are the driving force behind building the nation and supporting the comprehensive development witnessed by the Egyptian state. He emphasized that the university takes pride in its members who exert their utmost efforts in serving the educational system, noting that valuing labor and workers is a fundamental principle upheld by the university to promote a spirit of belonging and dedication.
The session also witnessed the honoring of Dr. Sameh El-Maraghi, former Vice President for Community Service, and Dr. Emad El-Banna, Executive Director of Beni Suef University Hospitals, in recognition of their significant efforts in serving the university hospitals and the local community. Additionally, Dr. Donia Mohamed Mohamed Atwa, Lecturer at the Institute of Laser Research and Applications, was honored on the occasion of receiving the Marie Curie European Fellowship in partnership with the University of Pisa, Italy—an outstanding scientific achievement reflecting the university’s international competitiveness. Administrative staff who reached the legal retirement age were also honored.
Furthermore, the Council approved the plan of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector to organize a series of seminars and workshops during the upcoming month of February. The Council emphasized the importance of such regular events in enhancing interaction between students, faculty members, and external experts, as they provide valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange and keeping pace with scientific and technological developments across various disciplines. These activities also contribute to developing students’ critical thinking and research skills, broadening their professional horizons, fostering innovation and teamwork, and ultimately preparing graduates for the labor market while building a vibrant and knowledge-driven academic community.
