Delegation of Beni Suef University Conducts a Field Visit to the Naval Base in Port Said to Enhance Students’ Sense of Belonging and National Awareness

Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, President of Beni Suef University, and within the framework of the university’s keenness to develop its students’ awareness, strengthen the spirit of national belonging, and familiarize them with the achievements and high capabilities of the Egyptian Armed Forces and their role in protecting the nation’s resources and safeguarding its sanctities, the university organized a field visit to the Naval Base in Port Said.

The visit was organized in cooperation with the Command of the Popular and Military Defense Forces, the Military and National Education Administration at the university, the Faculty of Navigation Sciences and Space Technology, the Faculty of Developmental Social Work, and the Faculty of Arts (Surveying Department).

The visit was attended by Dr. Heba Abdel Halim, Colonel Khaled Nabil, a number of faculty members, and a delegation of university students.

Dr. Tarek Ali explained that this visit comes within the framework of Beni Suef University’s keenness to instill the values of national belonging and acquaint its students with the efforts of the Egyptian Armed Forces in protecting national security and carrying out all tasks entrusted to them under various circumstances.

He also emphasized the importance of witnessing the achievements accomplished within the Egyptian state and conveying the true image from the ground, thanks to the continuous directives of the political leadership of the Egyptian state to elevate the level of naval armament according to the highest standards of quality and precision, reflecting the greatness of the Egyptian state.

The visit included an inspection tour aboard a number of modern naval units, where students listened to an explanation of their advanced combat capabilities and their role in protecting maritime borders. The tour also included a visit to a naval supply vessel and a shipbuilding and repair hangar, allowing students to learn about the latest maritime manufacturing technologies.

The students expressed their pride in what they witnessed of major development and high professionalism within the Egyptian Navy, affirming that what they saw embodies the extent of the efforts exerted to preserve the security of the homeland and its resources.

For his part, Colonel Khaled Nabil explained that this visit comes within an integrated plan to enhance national awareness among youth and connect them with the reality of their armed forces, pointing to the major leap witnessed by the naval forces in the fields of development and modernization.

The visit also included an educational seminar on the role of the naval forces, featuring a documentary film on the stages of their development, in addition to an introductory tour on their military and humanitarian missions, including rescuing irregular migrants, providing relief to affected countries, and protecting gas fields and commercial ships.

At the conclusion of the visit, a number of commemorative photographs were taken.
