President of Beni Suef University Discusses Strengthening Academic Cooperation with the Permanent Libyan Delegation to the League of Arab States

Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, paid an official visit to the headquarters of the Permanent Libyan Delegation to the League of Arab States to discuss ways of strengthening joint cooperation with educational and research institutions in the sister State of Libya. This comes within the framework of the university’s keenness to expand the horizons of academic and scientific cooperation with various Arab countries.
The University President was received by Ambassador Abdel Motaleb Thabet, Permanent Representative of the State of Libya to the League of Arab States and Chargé d’Affaires of the Libyan Embassy in Cairo, Mr. Ismail Al Hadi, and Dr. Ibrahim Al Jarari.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Ayman Ghoneim, Executive Director of the International Students Administration at the university, and Dr. Yasser Gaber, Scientific Advisor to the university.
The meeting addressed mechanisms for supporting cooperation between Beni Suef University and Libyan academic and research institutions, with a focus on developing joint educational programs and exchanging scientific expertise. The conditions of Libyan international students were also reviewed, and ways of providing the necessary support for them and facilitating their enrollment procedures were discussed, in addition to efforts to attract more Libyan students to study in the distinguished programs offered by the university.
The meeting also reviewed a number of unique faculties and institutes distinguished by the university, including the Faculty of Navigation and Space Sciences, the Laser Institute, and the Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, which represent promising fields of study that meet the needs of the regional labor market.
Both sides affirmed during the meeting the depth of the historical relations between Egypt and Libya, especially in the fields of education and scientific research, noting the role played by Egyptian academic cadres in supporting the establishment and development of university education in Libya, reflecting the strength of the ties between the two brotherly peoples.
At the conclusion of the visit, commemorative shields were exchanged as an expression of both sides’ appreciation for efforts to support academic cooperation and strengthen bilateral relations between the two institutions.
