Faculty of Tourism , Beni Suef University and Hotels strengthens its international partnerships and implements the global "Vatel" hospitality management program.

Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, and as part of the university's efforts to engage with international educational institutions and enhance the quality of hospitality education, the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at the university has taken a significant strategic step towards implementing the Vatel International Hospitality Management Programme. This program is considered one of the most prominent internationally accredited academic programs. The first steps of implementation began with the participation of Dr. Mohamed Farouk Shehata Ali, the program coordinator at the faculty, in the initial training program held in Vatel Nîmes, France. The five-day program took place from July 20 to 24, with the participation of representatives from partner international universities. This initiative was overseen by Dr. Nahla Mohamed Helmy, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels.
Dr. Tarek Ali emphasized that this step reflects Beni Suef University's commitment to raising the quality of higher education and expanding international academic partnerships, in line with the vision of the Egyptian state and its institutions to achieve excellence and global competitiveness in the fields of tourism and hospitality. He also noted that the intensive training program in France aimed to provide university representatives with comprehensive training on the educational philosophy of the Vatel network, its academic standards, operational procedures, and the quality assurance system adopted within the global network. The program also showcased the distinguished educational model that combines academic excellence with practical field experience to prepare qualified personnel capable of leading the hospitality sector globally.
Dr. Tariq Ali pointed out that the training sessions covered curriculum design mechanisms, experiential learning, blended learning with practical training, student assessment systems, corporate governance, and professional standards. He added that the Bachelor of Science in International Hotel Management program spans four academic years with a total of 240 credit hours according to the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), while the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program represents the advanced stage, lasting two academic years with a total of 120 credit hours, designed to develop the strategic and leadership competencies of graduates and professionals.
The university president added that the training also focused on the institutional requirements to ensure the model's success, most notably developing faculty capabilities, enhancing digital infrastructure, and deepening partnerships with major international hotel chains and institutions, as well as opening new horizons for students to benefit from student mobility and international training programs.
For her part, Dr. Nahla Mohamed Helmy expressed the college's pride in this achievement, which represents a significant strategic milestone in the college's development. She noted that launching the "Vatel" program embodies the college's strategic vision of providing an internationally accredited educational environment that aligns with global best practices and hones students' managerial and entrepreneurial skills, thus enhancing graduate employment opportunities and supporting efforts to develop the tourism and hospitality sectors in Egypt and the region.
