The President of Beni Suef University receives a high-level scientific delegation from the chinese University "Nanjing"

Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, received today a high-level scientific delegation from the chinese University "Nanjing" , as part of the activities of the joint Egyptian-Chinese research project No. (50515) entitled, "Risk Assessment and Removal of Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Compounds (PFASs): Case Studies of Water Sources in the Lower Tributaries of the Nile and Yangtze Rivers."
The meeting was attended by Dr. Hamada Mohamed Mahmoud, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Hanan Suleiman, Dean of the Faculty of Science; Dr. Rehab Khaled Mahmoud, the project's principal investigator; Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Wahed and Dr. Ahmed Allam, professors at the Faculty of Science; Dr. Heba Ahmed Younis; Dr. Samar Mahmoud Mahgoub; Dr. Abrar Ramadan; and Dr. Hamdi Allam, members of the research team.
For his part, the university president emphasized the great importance of this visit, noting that it represents a strategic step towards building bridges of fruitful cooperation with Chinese universities. He pointed out that the visit primarily aims to familiarize the visiting delegation with the university's advanced infrastructure and to provide them with firsthand experience of its vast research capabilities and state-of-the-art scientific equipment. Furthermore, the visit highlights the university's leading role in providing precise analytical and specialized laboratory services, particularly in the areas of pesticide residue testing and analysis, heavy metal detection, and monitoring of various environmental pollutants. The goal is to open new horizons that will effectively contribute to supporting and developing joint scientific work, enhancing research activities and the exchange of expertise between the two sides, and exploring promising future opportunities and projects in all scientific fields of mutual interest.
Dr. Hamada Mohamed Mahmoud indicated that the delegation includes a number of professors specializing in environmental chemistry, water quality, PFAS (Plug-Free Affecting Substances), water treatment technologies, and environmental risk assessment. This makes the visit an opportunity to strengthen scientific cooperation and facilitate the exchange of expertise and visits between the two sides.
