Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, President of Beni-Suef University—and as part of the  commitment to expanding scientific research and advancing postgraduate education—a delegation from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Beni-Suef University paid an official visit this October to the Faculty of Pharmacy at  Paris-Saclay university in France. The visit aimed to activate an international cooperation agreement between the two institutions under the "Erasmus+" program, and to continue discussions and coordination regarding the protocol and its future implementation mechanisms. The initiative was overseen by Dr. Shahira Fawzy El-Menshawy, Dean of the Faculty, and Dr. Amira Mourad Abou-Youssef, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research and the project coordinator, with ongoing support from the university’s leadership to strengthen international academic partnerships

Dr. Tarek Ali emphasized that this step aligns with the state’s strategy and the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to expand participation in European Union programs, while fostering innovation and technology transfer between Egyptian and French universities. This initiative aims to achieve sustainable development goals and elevate the standards of higher education and scientific research, as well as the competitiveness of their outcomes

The university president added that the agreement signed between Beni-Suef University and Paris-Saclay university in October 2025—which includes a partnership with the Faculty of Pharmacy at Cairo University—builds upon a history of fruitful cooperation, a strong reputation, and the outstanding academic performance demonstrated by master’s students sent from the faculty to the French university over the past five-plus years

Dr. Tarek Ali explained that the visit included a field tour of advanced research laboratories in France, as well as productive meetings with the dean of the faculty and a select group of faculty members. These discussions focused on ways to strengthen academic and research cooperation, develop joint projects, and exchange expertise and best practices regarding the enhancement of academic programs and the improvement of the quality of the educational process.

The university president noted that the discussions explored mechanisms for implementing student and faculty exchange programs, as well as academic and research training—initiatives that support higher education objectives and enhance the presence of Beni Suef University and Egyptian academic institutions on the international stage

For her part, Dr. Shahira Fawzy El-Menshawy, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, expressed her deep appreciation for the university administration’s full support regarding the executive steps of the agreement. She also commended the diligent efforts of Dr. Amira Mourad Abou-Youssef in following up on and coordinating all stages of the collaboration with the French side, ultimately leading to the activation of this strategic partnership
