Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni-Suef University, an expanded academic meeting was held on the sidelines of the activities of the fifth edition of the Medical and Aromatic Plants Festival at the Egyptian Agricultural Museum in Dokki. The meeting aimed to follow up on the activation of strategic partnerships with the U.S. South Dakota State University.

The University delegation met with Dr. Rainey Douglas, former Dean of Graduate Studies at the American university and Professor of Chemistry, specializing in the extraction of oils from medical and aromatic plants. The meeting was organized by Beni-Suef University at the pavilion of the Institute of Medical and Aromatic Plants and attended by Prof. Dr. Sama El-Deak, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies for Advanced Sciences and Director of the International Ranking Office; Dr. Mai Raslan, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research; and Dr. Eman Gad Kandil, Executive Director of the International Cooperation and External Relations Office at the University Performance Development Center.

Prof. Dr. Tarek Ali emphasized that the meeting aimed to follow up on the outcomes of the discussions held between the two sides over the past several months and review the upcoming implementation steps related to academic cooperation agreements, joint degree programs, and training programs, in a way that supports the development of international research and academic expertise.

The University President added that the meeting was particularly significant as it coincided with Dr. Rainey Douglas's second visit to Egypt and his meeting with representatives of Beni-Suef University. The University had previously hosted him for a full month during the same period last year as an academic expert under the U.S. Fulbright Program. This reflects Beni-Suef University's continued scientific engagement and the mutual commitment to building on the outcomes of previous cooperation.

Prof. Dr. Tarek Ali pointed out that these steps reaffirm the University's ongoing commitment to strengthening its presence on the international academic cooperation map, deepening partnerships with distinguished global universities, and supporting the internationalization of higher education and scientific research, thereby opening broader horizons for sustainable academic and research collaboration.

For his part, Dr. Rainey Douglas expressed his deep appreciation for the fruitful cooperation with Beni-Suef University, praising the seriousness and clear vision demonstrated by the University's leadership and officials in activating academic partnerships and achieving tangible results that serve scientific research and the educational process.
