Beni Suef University organizes a symposium on the dangers of overpopulation

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, students for Egypt organized today a symposium on the dangers of overpopulation in the country, in the theater of the Faculty of Commerce, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Farouk, General Coordinator of Students for Egypt, in which Dr. Gamal Abdel Mottalib lectured, Assistant Professor of Sociology at the College of Arts, and Director of the Center of Capacity and Human Resources Development at the University.
Prof. Dr. Mansour explained that the aim of the symposium is a dialogue among students about the population issue and all related variables, which represent one of the most important developmental challenges facing the Egyptian state during this stage, and to dicuss the negative effects and economic and social pressures resulting from the increase in the imbalance between resources and population, and studying population challenges and correcting any misconceptions that may exacerbate the crisis, such as discrimination between males and females, underage marriage, and the danger of early marriage, in addition to developing mechanisms to work on achieving a balance between population growth rates and available resources, maximizing investment in human energy, and emphasizing the value of the family and preserving its development and its stability.
Dr. Gamal Abdel Muttalib said that the state is keen on making the main objective of the strategy for dealing with the population issue to be managing it from a comprehensive development perspective, based on improving population characteristics such as education, health, job opportunities, economic empowerment, and culture, as well as controlling population growth rates.
Dr. Ahmed Farouk, General Coordinator of Students for Egypt, praised the role and support played by Dr. Mansour Hassan to support them and increase their activities, in addition to organizing a series of lectures under the title: One-day lectures, the aim of which is to spread the spirit of culture, knowledge and awareness in various fields to qualify university students for labor market.
