The Anti-Violence Unit at Beni Suef University is organizing a seminar entitled "Electronic Blackmail and How to Prevent It" at the female student dormitory.

Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, the Anti-Violence Unit organized a visit to the girls' dormitory in East Nile, as part of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign. The visit was supervised by Dr. Abu El-Hassan Abdel-Mawgoud, Vice President for Environmental Affairs and Community Service; Dr. Hamada Mohamed, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Captain Mohamed Farouk, Director General of Youth Welfare; Dr. Ghada Atef, Director of the Anti-Violence Unit; Dr. Jumana Ramadan, Law Lecturer and Deputy Director of the Unit; Mr. Ramadan Hassan, Director of University Dormitories; and Ms. Maha Maher, Director of the East Nile Girls' Dormitory.
Dr. Tariq explained that this seminar comes within the framework of the university’s efforts to spread awareness and protect female students from the dangers of cybercrimes. The seminar addressed the topic of electronic blackmail and ways to prevent it, in addition to discussing the phenomenon of harassment in public places and how to confront it, and ways to protect female students from being exposed to such practices.
The seminar also featured a detailed presentation on the legal framework governing cyber extortion crimes and harassment cases, with a focus on the legal mechanisms available to protect victims and report incidents.
At the conclusion of the events, a set of practical recommendations were presented to the students, in addition to listening to their complaints and introducing the role of the anti-violence unit and ways to contact it when needed.
