Guidelines and instructions for participating in research presentations at Beni Suef University
Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Tarek Ali, President of the University, Beni Suef University launched the Research Insights Initiative, which aims to highlight the ability of Beni Suef University to produce knowledge in various disciplines and present it in a simplified journalistic language to the general public, thereby enhancing the university’s image locally and internationally and supporting Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals.
1. Participation Requirements
• The research or review must have been published within the last calendar year (12 months).
• The publication must be in a reputable, specialized international journal, preferably one indexed in the first quarter (Q1) by Scopus and indexed in one of the Clarivate Analytics databases.
• The majority of participants should be from Beni Suef University, with preference given to the first, last, and principal co-authors being from the university.
2. Research Highlight Content
• A single, continuous paragraph in simplified Arabic explaining:
o The research background and its importance to society or practical application.
o The methodology in a concise journalistic manner.
o The main findings in general.
o Practical applications or benefits.
• A short English brief of no more than 80–100 words (3–5 sentences).
• Complete publication details: journal name, publisher, ranking, impact factor (if applicable), and DOI.
3. Word Count
• Arabic text: 200–250 words.
• English brief: 80–100 words.
• With publication details, table, and tags, the total expected word count for each highlight is 500 words.
4. Required Attachments
• The attached template must be completed as shown.
• Lighting proposals should be sent to Professor Ayman Abdel Hamid, University Development Center, via WhatsApp or email.
• The proposals will be reviewed by the University's Scientific Advisor and Media Advisor.
5. Review and Publication
• All submitted research papers will be reviewed by the relevant committee to ensure the quality of the content and its alignment with the university's objectives.
• Publication priorities will be considered to ensure balanced representation of all university sectors and to prevent the focus on a single sector.
• Approved papers will be published on:
o The university's official website.
o The university's social media pages to ensure they reach a wide local and international audience.
Research Spotlight No.
Write a title for your research spotlight. The title should be easily understood by the general public and include a journalistic touch if possible.
Write a single, coherent paragraph in simple Arabic explaining the background of the research and its importance to society, briefly outlining the methodology, highlighting the main findings, and discussing practical applications. The writing style should be journalistic and easily understood by non-specialists.
Write the names of the research participants.
The following individuals participated in the research: ...., ........, and ....
English Brief: Write 3-4 lines that describe the importance and main findings of the research/review article.
Add the relevant hashtags
Add the DOI of the published article
Attach a photo of each researcher participating in the research.
Attach an image as a graphic summary representing the research topic (optional).
