Beni Suef College of Nursing launches the “Check and Reassure” initiative to prevent breast cancer

The Faculty of Nursing, Beni Suef University, under the patronage of Dr. Mansour Mansour Hassan, President of the University, launched an initiative to prevent breast cancer under the slogan “Check and Reassure” It targeted women working at the university by holding awareness seminars in the university’s complexes east and west of the Nile, under the supervision of Dr. Sameh El-Maraghy, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Naji Muhaisen, Dean of the College of Nursing, and Dr. Hanan Al-Zabalawi Hassan, Vice Dean of the College for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.

The initiative dealt with introducing women working at the university to the seriousness of the disease and its motivating causes, the importance of early detection that increases recovery rates, methods of detection and symptoms of the disease, training women to conduct breast self-examination on a monthly basis so that they can detect any changes and thus early detection is achieved, and the difference between benign and malignant tumors. It also discussed ways to prevent it through exercise, diet, and a healthy lifestyle.

It is worth noting that the initiative was hosted by the Colleges of Engineering, Technology and Education, and the College of Arts, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Hassan, Dr. Mohamed Hassanein, and Dr. Ramadan Amer, deans of the colleges.
